Hi, I am unsure about what car I should buy. I saw a 1996 Acura Rl premium edition. It has 83500 miles on it and is in excellent condition. The 2000 Honda Accord LX has 73,000 miles but does not have all the options like the Acura and is in good condition. Which car do you think is more reliable? Please let answer. Thanks!
Answer:I would go with the Accord. Both are built by Honda and will have similar reliability records but the Accord is 4 years newer and 10k fewer miles. Also, and I am not familiar with the older Acuras but many of the newer ones require premium gas whereas the Accord will require only regular. Of course, another BIG factor is if either of them have maintenance records. This would show just how the car was taken care of, which can tell you a lot.
I am thinking about trading my Acura rl in for another car,but I like the fact that it is paid off. It has 115,000 miles on it. Does anyone know how many miles you can drive these cars without having to replace everything. I would like a reliable car for the next couple of years. What things will I be expecting to replace in the next few miles?
Answer:On my opinion, if your car is paid off ride it to the ground. So you can get the most of it. A trade in is always bad. If I get 15 years out of one car and I drive it to the car crusher, I can say happy that I got my money worth on it. Just drive it, perform maintenance like it says on the book, do not abuse it and will last you perhaps another 100,000 I have GMs over 100,000 easily. Most cars these days can last you that long even more, with proper care.
Is the 1999 acura RL engine more powerful than the 1995 type2 acura legend engine? i was thinking about swaping, but ive checked some reviews and the RL is 210hp stock buts its a 3.5 v6, however the 95 legend type2 is 230hp but a 3.2 liter any info is appreciated. thanks the rl is 224 ft-lbs. the legend is 210 ft-lbs.
Answer:the type 2 is more powerful. Engine size doesn't always equal more power. for example, the j30a in the 03-07 accord is a 3.0 and makes 240 hp. Conversely, the 3.8 v6 in the 95-2004 mustang make only like 140-150 hp. stick with your type 2.
How can I check a trans on a 2000 acura rl, no check engine lights are on...? The car has 115,000 miles. It is a automatic. When I put it into gear it seems like it will slip a little when I put it into drive and hit the gas. When I easy to take off it does not slip, but if i am in a hurry it will.
Answer:depends on if if 2.5 or 3.2-if 4 cylinder on the passenger side front of engine comp. under battery area-if v6,driver side under battery area-look for a yellow ring at the outside end of dipstick-in both cases, check with trans warm, engine off
