I'm just wondering, what is the difference between an Audi A8 and Audi S8? What are the benefits of one or the other? I'm confused by the S Series and A series, i thought they were one in the same, but what exactly are the differences? Which one is better? Thanks for the help =)
Answer:The S8 is a sportier version of the A8. They are essentially the same car it's just the S8 will have a few subtle cosmetic differences i.e. bigger wheels, silver wing mirrors etc. it will however have a much more powerful engine. It will also be a little bit more "driver focussed", so it will have better suspension and will handle better. The S8 is a better car than the A8, however it really depends what you want. the A8 is a perfectly good car on it's own. It's luxurious, safe etc, but if you want all that plus some performance then you would go for the S8. Hope that helps
I have an Audi A8 2002 and I was about to sell it, but I love my car and I think I can keep it for many more years. Is there a way I can "modernize" it? Who sells kits to make it look a newer model? Thxs for your help.
Answer:I think you made a good decision, that is a very fine car and you can keep it for a long time and it will serve you well. As for the people who make it look new again, look up the people from Hofele in Germany. They adapt new spoilers to make the Audis look like the new line. I think they look very good. They have representatives in Canada so you don't have to fly over. Hope this helps
I'm not interested in the software of how the car detects lanes or a wandering car, but I'm interested in the hardware aspect of it. Does the Audi A8 actually move the steering wheel by itself? Is it a drive-by-wire system that is controlled by a computer? Is it hydraulic, electronice, etc.? Sources would also be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I am considering a BMW 750il as my first choice but now after yahoo answers I made arrangements to look at a Lexus LS460 and a Cadillac Escalade this week but someone also said Audi A8. Will it last a long time? Thats my main question. I know its a big car but should I spend some time looking at i and test drinvg it?
Answer:Unfortunately Audi, as all European manufacturers, have had many recent reliability problems stemming mostly from electrical matters. No doubt about it- the A8 is a beautiful car and drives very nice. It offers much room and a high class, high quality interior. It performs excellent in winter driving and is sporty in the summer. In theory a great car. However, it has many downsides. The first being resale value which is well below average- 43% loss in the first year. It is horrible on gas mileage as well- 14city/19highway. It is very expensive to own and maintain. Insurance is also very high as parts cost above average. And reliability-who wants to see their new car in the repair shop more than in their driveway? Read the consumer reviews, especially long term reviews. The logs are filled with horror stories just in time for Halloween. I would test drive it just so that later when you buy something else you will not wonder what it was like to drive that model.

Answer:The A8 isn't exactly the type of car you can trick out. In fact, it isn't very often that you'll find anyone under 40 driving this type of car. If you want to paint it, remember it is an aluminum car, and not just any body shop is qualified to even work on it. Audi has a network of body shops that are certified to do repairs on the A8, and I'd stick with those. It will be expensive, though. A good color would be green. Good luck.
