  • Has BMW ever produced a vehicle called the X6 ?
Me and a friend are in a debate over the existence of a car called the BMW X6. We both acknowledge that it is in development for release in 2007-2008, but I say that is the first time BMW has used that moniker on a production vehicle. She thinks it was/is the name of a low production volume SUV/crossover vehicle, not sold in the US, or only sold to limited markets. So what is the history (if any) behind the "X6"?
Answer:"The BMW E70 automobile platform will be the basis for the future X5 SUV. It will replace the BMW E53. It is expected that it will be released some time during 2007, and will be considerably bigger than the current E53 model and is rumoured to accommodate two extra passengers. The increase in size is due to the uncomfortably close sizes of the current generation X5 and smaller X3 model. The next generation BMW X5 will be 60mm wider, 165mm longer; with a 110mm longer wheelbase, but will remain at the height of the current generation X5 at 1715mm. The SUV will be manufactured alongside with the new 2008 BMW X6 at BMW's South Carolina plant in the USA." -wikipedia.org

  • Good idea to have a BMW X6 as a first car?
Well im 17 and just got my licence a month ago. My parents want to buy me a BMW X6 for my hardwork in college but im not sure if it will be the right car for me. Do you think its a good idea?
Answer:If you are serious about your statements, then I can say that the X6 is an awesome vehicle. But it is not for everyone not just for the price but also for its looks. But it sure is a head-turner. And also note that BMW will come out shortly with M versions of both the X5 and the X6. These would even be better and costlier.

  • what is the book value of a new 2009 BMW x6?
I am leasing a one model year old vehicle listed with all options at $89,000. How much should the discount be given it is already one model year old. They have offered me $5,000 off the price, however, isnt the depreciation alone 15% and greater once i drive off the lot. What should the buying price be?
Answer:In my opinion, once you drive a new car off the lot, the car depreciates by 20%, and 10% every consequent year. I just bought a 2008 M3 (in 2009) for $67,000. As built price for this car is $84,000 and the previous owner was probably offered $84,000 x 80% (20% from new to used car depreciation) x 90% (last year model depreciation)= $60,480 for the car. Then the dealership charges me $67,000 for a nice little profit. So in your case, for a new x6, I would ask for at least 10% off your price. $89,000 x 90% = $80,100. Not knowing how little mileage the car has or what condition it is in, I think $80,000 should be a good start as a counter offer. Of course, the dealership is going to have to profit or else they're going to hold out for another buyer. Hope this helps.
