I am considering purchasing a Buick Park Avenue Ultra but have been told that the Turbo costs $4K to fix. Does anyone have information about this?
Answer:Hi Schlafen, great car, but its main problem is gas millege, unless you want the extra power , dont buy a turbo, because it requieres high octane gas , and the cost is not worth it, buy a regular non turbo park avenue, and you are buying about the best large most economical sedan around with a real dependable motor. regards wayne.
I have a 1991 buick park avenue and a 1994 chev. astro van can i put the buicks aternator on to the astro van.
Answer:if its got the same pully and plug then it will probably work-sometimes the case in the back will be bacwards from what you need-all ya gotta do is take the back part of the case and spin it 180 degrees around-you will have to have 2 paper clips-you will have to put these in the small holes in the back to press the springs and magnets in so you can put it back together-you dont have to do this until you have it apart because you will have to push the magnets in and then insert the paper clips-or brad nails-anything small diameter metal-but this is only a maybe-the case might be the right way to begin with-like i said the important things are the plug and the pully being exactly the same-if the van has v-belts and the car has a serpintine it wont work unless ya wanna change them around but this is a pain in the a s s-hope i helped ya out
Where is the map sensor located on a 1997 buick park avenue?
Answer:Your best bet is to get a Haynes Manual there only about $15.00. MAP manifold air pressure is the intake air pressure sensor so it should be located on the intake or a vacuum hose from the intake {or plenum}. If you have the sticker under your hood where the engine size and spark plug gap is printed it should help also.
I just bought a 1999 Buick Park Avenue, and the gas gauge will move from empty, to full, to just about anywhere in between in a span of only a few minutes. Obviously this isn't right. We think that the Fuel Sending Unit is going out. Would this be a correct assumption? Where is the sending unit located on the tank, the top? Would the tank have to be dropped to gain access to the unit?
Answer:Yeah, the sending unit is going toes-up. It's located inside the tank. You'll have to drop the tank and remove the access plate on its top to get to the unit. Here's a link to a direct bolt-in replacement: http://cpwstore.carpartswholesale.com/catalog/?N=9211&Nr=OR(AND(make:Buick,model:Park%20Avenue,year:1999),AND(universal:1))&Vi=9819+1585+4294965397&y=1999&mk=Buick&md=Park%20Avenue Price: $215 or so, shipping and handling extra. It's a pretty straightforward install if you want to do it yourself and save a bundle of cash. Run the tank nearly dry first - a full one on a Park Avenue weighs over 150 pounds.
I just bought a 1991 Buick Park Avenue. The very first thing I did after I brought it home is misplace the door key which I hadn't put on a key ring yet. How will I be able to get another?
