I need to know the exact location of the screws i think there is 2 of them left and right. Is it the ones in the small barrels , the ones in the big barrel in the back. Or the ones in the middle on each side of the pin that links with the wing nut to hold the cover of the air cleaner. I got a haynes manual and i cant figure it out. thx for the help.
Answer:The only external adjustment is the two mixture screws in the front, pointing forward, maybe a 1/4 inch up from the intake manifold. They can be hard to see and even harder to adjust. They may have plastic cap over them. You can see them here with the springs on them here http://images.highperformancepontiac.com/tech/0612hppp_07z+rochester_quadrajet_carburetor+spread_bore_carburetor.jpg
Answer:get yourself a repair manual at Pepboys or your parts store :)
I noticed when i shift my gears in my car the knob can sit either a little in front of the double D or it can sit right on it the double D but when i place the knob on the double D it drives funny.
Answer:Well, it could be that the indicator is slightly off and you're actually in D (drive) when it indicates DD (overdrive). Try this. Put it in neutral and then without pulling back on the shifter just give it a tap downward and it will "click" into DD.
Answer:Pretty simple on those older cars. Unbolt the old ones and install the new.
Answer:Follow the belts away from the middle of the engine, it will be located one of the sides. It is black and will have a high pressure and low pressure hose going into and out of it. It is the only item attached to a belt that has a cap. Good luck.
