Have a Chevrolet Lumina 1996 model. Bought it second hand and was fine for the 40 days I owned. Then I noticed the Security Icon on Dashboard stays ON even after the car has started. The same used to come on and go off earlier, after the engine started. Now a days, the same stays ON. Can someone please help me?
Answer:the PATS chip that it's on the key it's falling, check if the the key or the chip it's dirty and or wet, if it's clean and dry and the security light still on you need to go get a replacement key to the dealer as soon as you can or it might left you stranded one day when the chip fails completely,
My 1992 chevrolet lumina turns off at normal temperature. When it cools down again it turns back on. What is the problem here?
Answer:yea he is right i've seen crank sensor cause this condition why dont you test it check oms disconnected at the ignition module 2 spade connector on the left side and you should see it at about 900oms or just replace it for 25 $ its between engine and trany but be careful you dont want to pry on it and break it
I have converted MP3 format songs and burned them onto CDs but they will not play in my car CD player, although when i checked the same CD on a Toyota XA (2006) it worked very well and without problems. I also tried the same CD on another 2006 Chevrolet Lumina with the same specs and the same sound system, it played on that too. In my car it will run all CDs that i buy from the market but not the ones i burn. please help.
Answer:Many CD players are not CD-R certified. Occasionally one might play, but there is no guarantee. CD-R's do not use the same process as commercial CD's and therefore have poorer laser reflectivity.
I have a lumina, 1995 model, the transmission has gone, anyone knows how expensive it would be to replace, and what the cost of a replacement transmission is. Is it a job I could do myself with the right tools? I know a little about working on cars.
Answer:I think the price for a working transmission would be about 300$-450$ it depends what condition it is I guess and labor may cost another 200$-300$ But that's just an estimation.. Ask your local mechanic
My coolant was leaking and I had someone look a it and fixed the problem.My car is no longer leaking and now the light is still blinking.He told me my light needed resetting but Im not sure on how to do it.So does anyone know how to reset the low coolant light on a 97 chevy lumina?
Answer:I've never heard of a properly functioning low coolant light blinking. It should only go on if the coolant is low, and if the coolant is filled it should go off. The only conclusion I can reach is that you have a malfunctioning sensor, or possibly a loose wire that is connecting and disconnecting intermittently. The "service engine soon", "security" and "anti-lock" warning lights are capable of flashing. Are you sure it's not one of those lights?
