  • How do you change a battery in a 2001 Dodge Intrepid?
Could someone please write me some good instructions for changing the battery on a 2001 Dodge Intrepid so it doesn't turn into a 5 hour job. Thank you.
Answer:With the Intrepid, the battery is in a compartment inside the wheel well. The car need to be jacked up, and supported on jack stands (never work on a car just supported by a jack, if the jack slips you can be injured or killed by the falling car!) You then must remove the tire. This will give you access to the battery panel cover. Remove the cover, and then take the battery hold down loose. Loosen and remove the battery cables, and slide the battery out. Reverse the procedure to install the new battery. This is one of those cars where it may be worthwhile to buy your battery at a place where they install them for free. The slight additional cost that you will pay for the battery at a place like that is well worth it. It is a lot easier to do this on a lift in a shop!

  • 1995 dodge intrepid: which wire is for the air intake temperature sensor?
95 dodge intrepid 3.3L. i need to locate the wire for the air intake temperature sensor. where can i find it?
Answer:I hope your not trying to install one of those chips off ebay claiming 25+ HP gains, because they are a gimmick. It is just a resistor that fools your computer into thinking it is colder and richening the a/f ratio.

  • I am buying a dodge intrepid with 293000 miles on it?
I am buying a 1999 dodge intrepid that has 293000 miles on it. People say that it is bad but don't say what it means, there reaction means it is obviously not good. So what happens to cars when they get alot of miles on them?
Answer:engine wears off and also the transmition you can not really tell just by looking at it because peple can add stuff to make it run good for few days then it goes bad bes advice is get a mechanic check it out before you buy it they test for comprssion and emmissions also look for rust and the health of the tires some cars are well kept and miles mean nothing but you really need a mecanich to check it out if you dont know the car owners

  • What engines can fit on a 1993 Dodge Intrepid mounts?
I am looking to get a high preformance modifiation for my dodge intrepid to make it a real sleeper car. Please tell me if I need new transmission exhaust, anything. I am willing to pay the big bucs.
Answer:That is the only motor that will fit on those motor mounts without modification. If money is no object then a V8 swap is one way to go. There are no kits out there for the swap like there are for the s10 v8 swap so everything will have to be custom. I am guessing you do not have the knowledge to do this yourself judging by the question asked so your best bet is going to be a customs shop. One that deals with all kinds of performance as this will be a big job. You will need the full motor and tranny swap along with custom exhaust work. If you are just looking for more power then all you can really do to that motor is a custom turbo or supercharger but you will need the internals of the engine beefed up to do so. Probably be the cheapest way out but still extremely expensive.

  • How do I remove the shifter knob on my 96 Dodge Intrepid?
I bought a new shifter knob for my '96 Dodge Intrepid and I can't figure out how to remove the factory-installed knob. There are no screws or anything, so I'm wondering if anyone knows how to remove it?
Answer: Yes, it has a "bolt". You need an Allen key set ($8), and in the front side you'll see the hex screw, if you see the new one you can notice the hole. good luck
