I have oval looking red reflector looking items at the lower portion of each of my doors. I have a 1999 Ford Taurus LX. are these items supposed to be lit when ever the dome light is on and or when the doors are open. Or are these just reflectors.?
Answer:Are they inside the door, so they are only visible when you open the door? Usually just a reflector so that people passing by you while you're parked can see that the door is open. If they're visible from the inside with the door closed, they might be supposed to light up. If you have an Owners manual, you could check to see if there are any bulbs listed for it.
Ford Taurus has 120,000 miles and minor rust forming around weel wells. and the Dodge Neon Plymoth has no rust and has 47,000 miles. I was told that Neons are cheaply made but what about the Ford Taurus LX 1999. Is this particular car also cheaply made? what is the better long term and reliability choice?

The engine is a 3.0L V6, and I need a replacement alternator. I dont have my manual, and it doesnt have anything on the engine to specify... So - I ordered an alternator, but am getting one for a DOHC, does this alternator differ alot from the OHV Vulcan engine?
Answer:The 3.0 DOHC engine says DOHC on it, if it doens't say it, you don't got it.. The 1999 Taurus never came with SOHC engine. It's an OHV engine also known as the Vulcan V6.
