Latest Ford Taurus Frequently Asked Questions:
Hi, I am a new driver and will be getting a car very soon. I am looking into a 2000-2002 Ford Taurus but I am wondering why is it so cheap? It's pretty new and has a V6 engine but sells for only 5000 or 6000 dollars. Can anyone tell me why it's so cheap and if it's a good car to get? Or can anyone reccomend me a similar car for under $6000?
Answer:I had a Ford Taurus. It was much older than the one you are looking at. That was the most dependable car ever! I loved that car. It's transmission finally went out at 190,000 miles and I reluctantly put it to rest. Go to kbb.com and check out what the suggested price is for the Taurus you are looking at. They were not expensive cars to start with, so used they would not be much. They are great cars though and will provide you with years of service and not many repair bills.
what are the relay schematics for a 2000 ford taurus?
Answer:You can find a great one in Chiltons, pick one up for 20 bucks at an auto parts store.
(Ford Taurus) My car is starting to delay acceleration when I step on the gas. The delay is about 3 to 4 seconds then is shoots forward and catches up to speed. This happens any time I stop and step on the gas. It's so bad that I don’t step on my gas to park because I don’t want my car to shoot forward and hit the car in front of me. Could it be my Catalytic Converter?
Answer:
I was replacing the thermostat on my 97 ford taurus. One of my wrench's hit my positive battery terminal. Resulting in alot of sparks. Now my car will crank but won't turn over. What could possibly be the problem?
Answer:Crank="To Turn Over!" In the main Fuse/Relay Box by the Battery Check the Main Fuse & Ingnition Fuses, Check to see if you Burned Out the Starter Solenoid. Check to see if you shorted out the Fueible Link to the Alternator!
I have been looking to pay cash for a second car to use for commuting, and was seriously considering a Ford Taurus. I looked at several in including a 98,99, and 02. The 98 has the least miles with 69k, the 99k has 100k and the 98 has 80k. However the 99 has only been a company vehicle and has a very well maintained maintenance record. How can I determine which, if any of these is a good buy?
Answer:The best buy is the car that is in the best mechanical condition that has the lowest price. Mileage is irrelevant. Once you get into high mileage cars, the maintenance costs will all be the same. They will all need occasional repairs, none of them any less than the other. So buy the car that is the cheapest, that has the best maintenance record and is in the best physical condition.
