  • Ford Thunderbird.?
I am looking at getting a 97 ford T-Bird but it has 150,000 miles on it and i was just woundering how many more miles should i expect to get out of it before it goes. its the v6
Answer:First of all, I can tell you that the model year 97 Ford Thunderbird is the most reliable of all Generation 10 Thunderbirds (1989-97). Relatively speaking, throughout this generations life time it was fairly reliable. You should get a good 200,000+ miles or more out of it, if it's been well taken care of. Things I would look at and ask about the car is how many past owners it's had, or if it's ever been in an accident or misused (although some won't admit to it, often times simply driving the car will tell you more than most will, or driving the same car if possible, from a different owner to compare to. This isn't always the best way to go, make sure to have it checked out by a mechanic). If it's a 4.6 liter V-8, I would make sure it doesn't leak coolant, or ask if it ever over heats or leaks coolant- as this was an issue with 4.6 liter T-birds. You should be able to get quite a few good miles out of your Thunderbird, if you simply take care of it. It's a very reliable car, don't let people convince you about American cars being disgusting and unreliable, as not all of them were. The Thunderbird, specifically speaking of the one you are looking at as the 97 model year had a major update in the interior and mechanics, is specifically nice, and reliable. I would consider purchasing the car, but keep in mind that 150,000 miles is quite a lot, even if considering this is a reliable car.

  • What year Ford Thunderbird seats will fit to my 1990 T-bird?
I have a 1990 Ford Thunderbird 3.8 Base and want to change my seats with the leather ones. Also, I want to change the back seat with the folding leather seat. So, what year Thunderbirds should I look for?
Answer:89-97 they are all pretty much the same

  • How much could i sell my 1962 Ford Thunderbird for?
I have a 1962 Ford Thunderbird and its almost completely original, except for a few things in the engine to keep it working. It has 29000 miles on it and is in great condition. Black with red interior, original tires and spare tire, rides perfectly.
Answer:Well since its a Ford, and its junk, its probably worth its weight in scrap metal. I think scrap steel is going for 10 dollars per hundred-weight, so its probably worth around 300 bucks or something.

  • What parts are needed to complete an overhaul for a 1987 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe?
I have a 1987 Ford Thunderbird Coupe in the shop getting an "overhaul" and it has been there for over a year because the mechanic could not find a certain "pipe" that the engine needs. He says that that certain pipe is no longer made and no junkyards around where I live have it. I don't know anything about cars so please help me.
Answer:I'd guess it is a pipe having to do with the turbo. Search online - I'm sure there is a Turbo Coupe club of some sort out there. They should be able to help you find what you are after. After a year he should have already fixed it or given up and given the car back to you. Here's one: http://forums.tccoa.com/
