Latest Ford Thunderbird Frequently Asked Questions:
2000-2004 Ford Thunderbird 3.9 V8 and 200-2004 Jaguar S Type 4.0 V8. I know they have the same ignition coils but I was wondering if anyone knew if they had the same fuel injectors or not.
Answer:Yes they are indeed the same. Many parts will directly swap.
I have a '94 Ford Thunderbird and key remote seems to set off the alarm occasionally and the car won't start. It was suggested that I press the fuel reset button which should be located in the trunk on the left side. I notice an apparatus there but there does not appear to be a (red) button to depress. Is there a reset button on this type of car?
Answer:The fuel cut-off switch is an inertia switch. The only way it would need to be reset is if the car was hit hard enough to trip it. Your problem would more than likely be with your anti-theft system.
I might be getting a ford thunderbird soon and i know it needs alot of work. So, i was wondering if anyone knew of a place where i can find parts for little money.
Answer:Hey Naomi, if you need an engine or trans sounds like its time to look in the yellow pages salvage parts or used auto parts. Most salvage yards crush cars after 7 years of age. J.C Whitney catalog and internet sales also carries hard to find small parts, also many parts still available thru local auto parts ie...Checker, Auto-zone, pepboys etc...hope this helps

i have a 1991 Ford Thunderbird and want to improve the mpg. i am not willing to do a motor swap or anything that extensive. also any info on improving the performance of the car would appreciated. thanks its has the 3.8.L. and i was just wondering if there were a few small things to help the mpg. i just bought the car its all stock, and am a collage student so any money/gas i can save would help.
Answer:What kind of mileage are you getting exactly? The T-bird is a heavy car and the N/A 3.8L has to work hard to get it moving. Don't expect more than 18-19 MPG overall from it. Though on the highway should be getting around 23-24 MPG.
