My car makes a screeching noise for a few seconds after it's cranked . This only happens when it sits for a long time like overnight, or when I am at work. When I use the car frequently throught the day, i wont have any problems. I dont want to change the drive belts if i dont have to.Can someone please help me?
Answer:sounds like you need to adjust the belts.or if one belt (serpentine) change it and check the tensioner..might be worn..(no tension)..

We cannot seem to find the fuse box for the radio and the cigarette lighter port. It is a new car to me and there is no owners manual. It doesn't seem to be in any of the usual places.
Answer:There are two fuse boxes for the '94 J30: the one under the hood and the one that's accessed from inside the car, under the steering wheel and next to the parking brake. You need the later, to get to your radio fuse. I'll send you a photo if you still can't find it (I have a '93 J30 I recently purchased).
i have 1993 j30 infiniti that i just bought with 110,120 miles on it and i dont know when the last time the previous owner changed the trans fluid but i checked it and its brown but i heard changing it at high mileage can damage it? the transmission runs fine and does not slip at all it shifts ruff when it goes into second gear but otherwise it shifts pretty smooth.
Answer:New transmission fluid has brand new detergent. It is the detergent that keeps the transmission clean internally. When you change old fluid, some say this new highly detergent fluid will loosen up things in the transmission and cause an almost immediate failure. I have seen this happen, but the chances are maybe 25% or less. On the other hand, price a rebuilt transmission for a 93 j30. Even used they go for a thousand if you can find one. We have that exact car in the shop with a bad transmission, and the owner wont fix it because of the cost. I would do it, or maybe consider a partial change; drain the pan and replace the filter but do not drain the entire system. That will give you some indication if this is the right thing to do. Run the car several thousand miles, then consider changing it again, this time maybe a full flush and refill.
