Latest Lexus ES Frequently Asked Questions:
which one is more suitable for a woman? is ES just like a camry except with v6 3.0 and leather trim?
Answer:The main difference between these vehicles is that the GS is larger and slightly more powerful this year as Lexus replaced the GS300 with the GS350. Thew new GS makes 303 hp. The ES is all about comfort and luxury. It's FWD (Front wheel drive) whereas the GS is RWD (Rear Wheel Drive). Performance enthusiasts will prefer RWD, but most drivers won't see any difference between FWD and RWD cars. The ES offers as many features as the GS and is about 5k cheaper. If you demand a sporting drive the GS is better for you. If comfort and luxury is more for you, the ES will suit you better.
What does the ECT power light mean on my Lexus ES 250? there is a light that is on called ECT power and i was wondering what that means? is it good or bad? i just replaced the battery about a month ago
Answer:It means Electronically Controlled Transmission. Basically in the older models there is an option to turn ECT on which allows for better acceleration as it's controlled electronically You may have pressed a button which is labeled "ECT" perhaps near the shift knob or could be somewhere near the dashboard as well. It's nothing to worry about, unless the light indicates that ECT is not working.
Now I'm hoping for an answer that includes taxes and everything else in between. My dad has excellent credit and he makes about 40,000 a year, and I have little credit and I make about 40,000 a year also. I'm also just talking about the cars with the base models with the least options. Oh yea, I live in the central valley of california (dont know if that matters or not). thanks a lot!
Answer:The base MSRP for a 2008 RX 350 is $37,400, but you have to remember that packages and options can raise that by a considerable amount. The base MSRP for a 2008 ES 350 is $33,720. Once again, take into consideration how much the packages and options are.
My car just started smoking out from under the hood, and when I looked under neath it, oil was spitiing out all over the engine and there was not a drop of oil left in it. What could have happened?
Answer:A gasket or seal designed to prevent such a thing from happening has failed. Not typical of the brand at all. If you lost all the oil rapidly it may be a larger seal like one on the oil pan or perhaps a failed rocker cover gasket. Check your oil filter as it may be the source of the issue. Sometimes the gasket on the oil filter sticks to the engine block when a change is performed. The new oil filter is installed and the gaskets get double stacked and it's only a matter of time for a bad leak. If you lost the oil quickly I'd look there first.
The running headlights are out do you think, I also need high beamer bulbs?
Answer:IT may or may not need a screw driver, The running light and the high beam should be different, if they are then you change the running light which should only include a user level disconnection of the wire (pull it off) then turn the light bulb counter clockwise and pull out. refer to your owners manual. go to the closest auto zone and ask for help.
