  • How i improve the mpg on 2001 lexus gs 430.?
i have 2001 lexus gs 430 with 40k miles on it and gas price is way high. what should i do? how i improve mpg using newer better muffler or engine tune-up?
Answer:Not much. 1. Keep the tires inflated properly; that makes a big diff. 2. Don't carry anything you don't need...keep it light. 3. Use the lowest octane fuel that will work without the engine making noise(knocking or pinging). 4. Never use a roof rack! (Skis or bike, luggage etc) 5. Do your maintenance on time/keep the thing tuned. 6. Don't jackrabbit start. (making the tires go real fast from a stop) Get quickly to the speed you want and stay there. Changing speed uses more fuel. 7. Slow down. After about 55 MPH most vehicles start using relatively much more fuel. 8. Use the air conditioner and keep the windows closed. Newer car air conditioners are very efficient but old cars weren't so some old timers will tell you to not use the air but that's only for older models. 9. Don't leave the engine running when you're not moving. 10. Don't warm-up the engine in the morning to clear the ice. Use a scraper, drive slowly until the engine warms.(but make sure you can see)

  • If ibuy a lexus gs 350 for $53K and put down $13K, how much will the car be worth in 2 years?
Trying to figure out if its worth it to finance and sell in two years or just lease. I don't want to owe the bank money when I sell and Idd like to use it as a down payment for the next car.
Answer:In only two years you will owe the bank money. It takes about four to start breaking even. Lease the car if you only want it for two years and dont want to owe any money.

  • what is the difference between a 1994 lexus es 300 and gs 300 ?
what is the difference between a 1994 lexus es 300 and gs 300 and what's a good selling price and milage wise?? I'm thinking of buying a used car but don't know anything about Lexus. Are they good cars?
Answer:The ES uses a Camry sourced 3.0 V6 and is more family oriented. It is essentially a more upmarket Camry. The GS uses a 3.0 Straight 6 cylinder that is borrowed from the Supra and saw action in the IS300 as well. It is sportier and has more power. It is also rear wheel drive, where as the ES is front wheel drive. Overall, both are good cars that rarely break down. There are still plenty of them on the roads and they have reputations for running well into the 200k mileage territory.
