  • Why my steering wheel whobles on my lexus gs 300?
I have 1995 lexus gs 300, When ever i drive my and start stoping slowely my steering wheel starts to whobble a little but if i brake rappedly its fine, does anyone know what the problem might be?
Answer:You could have one of two problems. One is a crooked belt in front tire(very common). Two is warped front rotors. Here is how to find out which. For a crooked belt, drive the car on a smooth surface at around 20-30 MPH. Observe the steering wheel. If it has a slight wiggle from side to side, you have a front tire with a crooked belt. For a warped rotor, the whole front end should shake when you and only when you apply the brakes.

  • How long does the Lexus GS 300 series last?
I want to buy a used Lexus GS300 car, typically looking at the older models (before 2005). Does anyone know how much mileage can I get out of it until it dies out, with all other maintenance done periodically? Also does the car still drive smoothly with no motor noise past 100K? Any specific year I should look for? I want to spend under 10K Thanks!!!
Answer:Good question. The answer depends on how the car has been serviced. The 3 liter engine was used in many cars and they are really solid engines. This is why you see many of them on the road still and so many still being sold used. You need to be careful. Yes, Lexus are known to be relatively problem free and can easily run 200k plus, but it has to be properly serviced too. All of the major services needs to be done and only use factory parts. Try to stay away from those that have after market parts. The best way is to have a Lexus dealership look at the car. Just like any car, they need major services and parts will need to be replaced. Yes, I've seen owners that say that they only had to change the oil and it keeps running. It is possible, but I would not do that. Keeping the car up-to-date will ensure that you will get that 100k to 200k easy. The key is to get the servicing done by a good shop and insist on only factory parts. If they try to talk you into saving in buying an after market part, go to another shop. If you want to keep the car in the road for 200k plus, get it done right. I hope this helps.

  • Does anyone know the correct way to bypass a lexus gs 300 factory amplifier having major problems?
I tried bypassing it but all i seem to get is a lot of poppping and whining sounds along with the music. I cant figure out why it is making this sound
Answer:If you still have the factory radio in the vehicle, you cannot simply bypass it. The factory radio has no internal amplification. IF you want to bypass the factory amplifier, you will need to start by replacing the factory radio (BIG $$$ due to the labor involved) and re-wire all of the speakers (you can grab the speaker leads at the amplifier). Good luck and I recommend you do NOT try and do this yourself - take it to a professional.
