A '93 model year Lincoln Continental is one of Ford's WORST vehicles. The 3.8L V6 is extremely prone to timing cover/head gasket failures. The air struts and the air suspension compressor are also very prone to failures, let alone the transmission. All of the above mentioned items are easily more than double, if not triple the $1,000 in cost to repair EACH. You should run as fast as you can from this vehicle, as if Mike Tyson on steriods were chasing you! Hope this helps.

Answer:There are 4 of them, the main ones are on the exhaust manifold, or the pipe that hooks to them, the 2 on the converter aren't that important
I'm looking for a cost effective way to fix the struts/airbags on a 95 Lincoln continental. I can't afford to buy replacements but was looking for standard used struts to use instead. Any ideas?
Answer:check with you local auto parts store to see what is available. air bags may be able to be replaced with air adjustable shocks.
My fan clutch recently went down on my 1964 Lincoln Continental. I bought a fan clutch but the mechanic says the holes on the fan clutch were not matching with the holes on the water pump (I believe that's what he said). I have a guy willing to sell a 1998 lincoln continental for $1000.00, the KBB is $4900.00+. Does that indicate a mechanical issue? If so what are the normal issues, and how can i check for them?
Answer:airbags go out on those cars, I don't know how much they cost to replace
