I am looking to buy a used Mercedes Benz CLK 200 or 230K, the model before the latest model, from 1998 to 2004 I think. Anyone got any advice about what to be wary of mechanically, specifically for this type of car. I know what to check for generally when buying a used car. I just want things to look out for specifically for a CLK 200 or 230. Thanks.
Answer:OK, I had one of these cars (2000my 230K). No real problems. Fuel filter craked at joint (common issue with C Class) was fixed under warranty at the time. The giveaway was a small patch of fuel on the floor each time i stopped (about 25ml or so). Front tyre wear on the outside is normal for wide wheels. THis is nopt a tracking issue as such. Caised by camber angle, can be corrected by fitting AMG lower arms. Only a real issue for big wheels (18" or bigger). The 230 was a big noisy on acceleration because of the supercharger but it was smooth when cruising on the motorway. I still drive MB and find them great cars. The build quality and material quality is higher than BMW for that car type and age. The rest is basic common sense when checking it. Full service history (pref. MB) is a must. Good luck!

Answer:yes u can hear the raindrops dropping on the soft top but its kind of romantic when ur parked on the side of the road with a guy or girl in the car
2002 with AMG packaging stock 4.3L V8-powered 4266 cc Well i was wondering this because on the forums people claim to pass 130 mph easily with a limiter been doing a lot of research and haven't come up with a definite answer.
Answer:Not sure what it is unrestricted but in North America, it is speed limited to 130 mph/210 km/h. EDIT: All CLK430's in North America came with the AMG styling package but it was just that, a cosmetic package. AMG did not tune the engine for that model.
OK i know its a car, most be a very fast car if it is a mercedes, but how fast if it? an example because my friend was talking in the phone with all this crap about cars and all i could say was...yea, and ok, so can some one plz help me thanks how much does one cost?
