I looked into doing something on my SL600, but I realized for any reasonable performance increase, I might as well buy an AMG SL65. This way it stays under warranty. Remember, if you modify your car aftermarket, you void the warranty.

There is mercedes-benz clk 430 used going for $9,980 but the only problem is its 178,000 km. Iv always dreamt of a clk and this is my dream car. my question for all you benz fanatics is , is it worth it? is the mileage too high? what is the reliablilty of a clk? i dont want to buy it and inherit problems. thoughts?
Answer:clk430 was produced 98-02, so what year is yours? if it's 2000 or older, price seems a little high. but for 01-02 the price seems ok. mileage is not too high as long as the preivous owner did the proper maintanance. but i'm talking about prices in usa, other regions of the world have different prices. reliability of clk430 is pretty good. if you can do yourself basic things like oil change, changing spark plugs or brake pads than it will be pretty cheap to maintain, otherwise be prepared to spend from $500-1000/year.
