im 17 this will be my first should i get the mercedes benz s class 2003. what are the pros car than othand cons of this car. whats better about this er cars. not rich. will be goin to a dealers auction with my dads friend. try to find one for about 14,000. how much is the regular upkeep each year is it over 1k.
Answer:Yeah, you might actually find one for $14-15K from a dealer's auction, so that does sound legit. Retail on them (for typical mileage) is about $18-20K for that year. It is indeed a nice car, however... parts and upkeep are indeed high. I would expect to pay over $1K a year on maintenance. S-Class models from that time period were a little "buggy" with electrical gremlins, as they had plenty of upgraded gizmos that would go out after awhile. Also, their engines were NOT designed for neighborhood mechanics to dabble with if something went wrong. Keep in mind, no matter the class of car, it's still almost 7 years old and will require significant (and costly) repairs at some time. If something major goes wrong, you're going to be shelling out thousands to get 'er fixed. Got that in the bank? Insurance will not be cheap, either. Even liability will be high for a 17-year old on a "luxury" vehicle. If you have $14K sitting around, find you something for $8-9K and shove the rest in the bank. Let it gain interest. This will be your nest egg in case something goes wrong. I have owned only one Mercedes in my time, and will never own another. However, my opinion of them is not based on that one car.
I am considering buying a used Mercedes Benz S-Class with 30,000 miles on it. Even with those numbers, the car still costs about $75,000 (since it costs $90,000 NEW). How reliable are BENZs? Is there truth to the rumors of "electrical problems"? I test drove the S550 and its a mesh of computer technology and advanced systems so I could see how they could have problems but I'm wondering if the car is made fine enough to avoid most of those problems.
Answer:Not at all. Check consumer reports.
im 17 and this will be my first car. what are the pros and cons of the mercedes benz s class 430 or 500 maybe 600. im not rich. i will go to a dealers auction and find one for about 14,000. will it cost above 1k a year for regular upkeep. ya im parking it next to my dads 2008 auston martin vantage and my brothers new rolls royce phantom. jk
Answer:listen to me carefully, i'm a mercedes benz enthusiast, what your talking about is the w220 s class. big car with lots of options and extras. very luxurious. but on the bad side, this particular model of the s class has a great reliability problem. systems tend to break down especially with the v12 600 engine. costly to repair and you might end up waiting for a long time having it repaired than driving it. it cost low because it has lots of problems. i will advise that you take a look for the w140 s class (1991 to 1998). this is considered the last "over-engineered" s class by mercedes benz due to it's reliability and also has lots of extras and options. very luxurious and comfortable. it doesn't look old though. very elegant in white. has a good v12 600 engine or if you can put more budget, you can take the current s class (w221), there are now plenty of 2nd hand models out there up for sale.
Well, i started making my own business and decided that at one point i am going to get a car. My all time favorite car is an Mercedes Benz S-Class, but is it frustrating to see a teenager driving an s-class? I dont know i dont like coupes/roadsters as much. I am only 19 years old. What do you guys think of this?
Answer:you would look rather ridiculous in that car being a young man. People will think you drive your Dad's car. For a Limo, go for a Maserati four door quattroporte.. looks great and iz an amazing car, but does look good for a young successful entrepreneur... another suggestion would be a CLS Mercedes, that looks sporty too and can be AMG which is also something neat for a young guy. BMW has a nice M5, very nice and the engine is out of this world. Hope I helped. have fun shopping and congrats on your success
The 2008 Models have iPod integration. Will the 2009 S Class offer iPhone integration like Audi's A8?
Answer:We should start to see the 2009 model S Class here around August... you will be able to integrate your phone numbers, and address book into the S550 from your i phone, however not web capabilities or text capabilities (saftey reasons).
