Latest Mercury Marauder Frequently Asked Questions:
from my understanding, I believe the Marauder is a more aggressive version of the Mercury Grand Marquis. I would like a performance comparison between the marauder and the crown vic. Also if you can provide information on the performance of the town car too that would be great. Thanks!
Answer:The Mercury Marauder is no longer in production, but I will answer according to their last year(s). The Mercury Marauder made 302 horsepower, and 318 pounds of torque per square foot. It had a 4.6 liter, double over head cam V8 engine. The Ford Crown Victoria of the same year had a 239 horsepower, single over head cam V8 engine. I could not find the torque rating, sorry. The gorgeous Lincoln TownCar of the same year had 239 horsepower**, and 287 pounds of torque per square foot, **this was with dual exhaust. Without dual exhaust it had about 220 horsepower, and 275 pounds of torque per square foot. The Crown Victoria probably had the same torque power (287 ft•lbs). Stars and Stripes forever! Have a nice day. :)
I live in Washington, D.C. and is looking for a Black Mercury Marauder.
Answer:
I own a 2005 grand marquis ls ultimate edition and i want it to have the same stats as the marauder. someone told me that they have different engines. one sohc and one dohc. what is the difference?
Answer:The Marauder has four valves per cylinder and two cams per head, and make around 300 hp. The GM has a two valve per cylinder & one cam per head engine, and makes from 220 to 240 hp. The Marauder engine was from a Cobra Mustang. If you upgrade your GM to the P71 police car engine with the P71 heads and intake, that'll get you up to 260/280hp.
I know the Marauder is basically a Grand Marquis or Crown Vic w a performance package but how do I know by visually inspecting it if its the real deal?RUnning the VIN is an option but I cant do that away from home while Im out looking at a Marauder.
Answer:the engine you can get a Marquis with the floor console (LSE) or a Vic with the LX Sport package but not that engine. The Vic or the Marquis also won't have the center gages nor will it have the brushed aluminium trim alongside the interior door panel and dash. Seats in the Marauder have the "Marauder" insignia on the front seat backs...and different style seats not available in the vic or marquis. EDIT: they were available in more than black and the "H" in the VIN means side door airbags, available on the grand marquis
I havent been able to find many reviews. I want to put a supercharger on my marauder but i want to know if anyone has experienced perfomance problems due to the supercharger. Is it a good idea?
Answer:If you don't know enough about the subject that you have to ask, the answer is no.
