I have a 2003 Mitsubishi Galant with a 2.4 litre, 4 cylinder engine. I want to turbo charge it, and I am wondering if anyone out there has done that to a Galant before. I went to a Mitsubishi dealership and they said they will install one, and that it will be cheaper if the turbo kit can fit in easily. I hope you know what you are getting into, as it will take a lot to turbocharge your Galant: Reprogram the ECU, reroute exhaust system, bigger fuel injectors, etc. You will also not be able to run much boost, since non-turbo cars run a higher compression ratio. The only way you would be able to run high boost would be to completely rebuild your engine with stronger connecting rods, stronger pistons, balancing the rotating assembly, etc. You might could contact http://www.buschurracing.com to see if they might make a kit, or could offer you any more help than I can. Answer:2 inch. Sorry there are no aftermarket replacements available for that application. With a lot of fabrication and modification you can get a 3 1/2 inch speaker to fit in there.
My timing belt are sceaming when i'm running my car. They told me it needs to be changed. I want to know how much it can cost in total to change them. The car is a mitsubishi galant 97.
Answer:Are you sure they said timing belt? Timing belts don't generally scream, they are internal and if not working, your vehicle won't run. Perhaps they said serpentine belt, more likely, which can get glazed and cracked and slip and scream, louder as you accelerate. In either case, cost will be the cost of parts, plus the labor rate times the number of hours to fix the problem. If it's the timing belt it will be more since covers will have to be removed, etc. Serpentine belt is fairly simple.

Answer:Over the cam shaft. This is necessary with variable valve timming. That cahnges the openeing and closing of the exhaust and intake valves for the best performance.

Answer:There's a lot of ifs in that. However, the key to any car's life is the regular maintenance. I personally put 230,000 miles on an 88 galant. changed the oil every 3k, tune-ups, etc. only had the replace the water pump and an alternator (outside of battery, tires and brake pads). My mom also put 145,000 on a 96 galant. After 100K, all cars will have water pump issues ($400), power steering issues ($250) and alternator issues ($200). Another consideration is that it is a front-wheel drive car and the CV joints will go out ($400 each) at some point (that's where the power is transferred to the front wheels from the transmission). The good news, Mitsu's have not had a history of air conditioner issues, radiator issues or transmission issues. Do not expect these all at once. It's just part of the overall cost of buying any car with 100K miles.
