Latest Volvo 960 Frequently Asked Questions:
What can I do beside changing the battery on the remote? Can I reset the frequency myself? How much would a dealer charge to fix this?
Answer:Don't go to the dealership go to a Volvo specialist shop. You could also go to like pep boys and look in the books there. but have you changed the battery?
I unfortunately only have 1 key.
Answer:Call AAA, they can generally make one on the spot--outside of your locked vehicle..
I locked my only set of keys in my car. I'm just about broke. The police laughed at me(Los Angeles) and I haven't found a single friend who has AAA. Someone suggested a slim jim and I found an auto parts place that has them for $6. But, I'm not sure which size I need and how to use it
Answer:Try prying the door open with a flat head screwdriver and use a hanger to push the unlock button. good luck
I have tried several things. Like locking and unlocking to activate the alarm and then unactivating it. The keyless transmitter does not work either. Could anyone help me with this.
Answer:i had the same problem, but it was an after market alarm, it would go off and lock the engine up, i had to disengage the alarm, then i disengaged the alarm completely so it wouldn't do that again... maybe you just need a battery in your transmitter.... mine wouldn't work at all unless the transmitter was working.....
The in-dash temp gauge on my car has lost its mind. Sometimes, especially at start-up, the gauge goes all the way to red, triggering the cooling fan. But most of the time it gives normal temp. I know the car is not overheating but I've been unable to find the temp gauge output unit on the cylinder head, to at least check it.. Any suggestions?
Answer:Normally the temperature sending unit is located closely behind the thermostat housing. This unit screws in to the engine and has wire leads running to the top of the unit.
