A local dealer is selling a 2001 Volvo C70 LT covertible in awesome condition. Clean title with 98,000 miles for $8000 plus tax. I wanna know the average life expectancy of Volvos and if they're reliable vehicles. Serious solid responses are appreciated. Thank you...
Answer:Volvo's reliability has suffered quite a bit since the late '90s. I'd say that their service life is also not what it used to be. I've owned fourteen Volvos since 1968 and one of them, the latest model I owned, was by far the worst. A 1979 model was the best of the lot and had rolled up 365,000 miles when I traded it. I currently have four but none newer than 1969. Having said all of this, the one you are considering is better then most of the early 2000s. Its mileage is comparatively low for the age of the car. However, you should know that Volvos have become very expensive to repair with high parts costs. I would ask the seller for a complete set of service records and if they can't be obtained, walk away.

Now it starts with no problem. Irt does it every year. I live in Atlanta area. It doesn't get too cold but when it does she will not start. It will make noise like it wants to but it wont do it.
Answer:most likely has a lot of miles on it, have a block heater put in and will not have a problem any longer. Will need to be plugged in for a hour when cold before you start it.
