They're just a simple 1156 bulb, as listed in the manual. They seem to last maybe a month or two so if there's just one burned out, we leave it until time for state inspection. Thanks for the replies. I check the bulb for a broken filament before I replace it. I'm certain the lens interior is staying dry.
Answer:I would suggest to check your alternator output .....it may be putting out too high a voltage. Top voltage should be high 14 or so
Brand-wise, and what type of oil should i use for my oil change as well?
Answer:most people would say you could use regular, but the S80 is the flag ship of Volvo, and the T6 is the upper class of the S80's so i'd say stick with premium. and mobil 1 synthetic for the oil.
I know that you could MAKE it last. I guess what I want to know is, how much it will cost me and what are the typical Volvo components that go bad around 100 to 125,000 miles.
Answer:First generation S80s were very problematic cars. Transmission troubles were prevalent along with all sorts of electrical problems. I'd stay away from this particular car. By the way, the early S80s had nothing to do with Ford. Volvo screwed then up all on their own.
I have a Majestic amplifier (MA 760C) that is about 8 years old. I am planning on using the hi-input because I do not think my stereo has RCA outputs. However I lost the wire connector that shows which of the 6 pins is which (ex. L-, L+ etc). Does anyone know? does anyone know if the stereo has RCA outputs?
Answer:I have a majestic 790 that i pulled out of the closet and it has to be about 10-15 years old now..... But The diagram on the bottom of the amp for the Hi-Input just shows the color of the wire and what it is which wouldn't help you any....... You should just run RCA cables from the amp to the back of the stock radio and go to best buy ad pick up a Line output converter which is just a box and on one end it has 2 RCA female plugs (red and white) and on the other side is 4-5 wires and one is ground the others plus in to the factory wires coming from the rear of the stock deck.... but you'll need to know which of the stock wires is the + and - for the front L/R speakers fo hook up the line output converter......
A mechanic from another dealer told me that should have been done by the dealer that installed my padsand didn't do it.
Answer:They should be replaced. Volvo's are typical of European practice in that the rotors wear at a much higher rate than is typical for American or Japanese cars. They are designed to wear out at roughly the same rate as the pads so that both should be replaced together. See that huge lip on the outer edge of your rotor? That's how thick it USED TO BE. I've been doing brake jobs for 7 years in a shop with a large proportion of European vehicles. I've never turned a Volvo rotor. Never found one that was enough above the factory discard spec that it could be done on.
