When I turn in my Volvo XC70, the power steering pump (i think) makes a sort of whining noise. Does this mean the pump is broken? Can the pump be rebuilt? BTW I love this car and I'm on my third one.
Answer:Check your fluid, and check for leaks. Some pumps tend to make noise when you turn the wheel to the steering stops this is normal. Some times older pumps will start to make noise, as long as this isn't causing an impairment it's fine.
I can get it at the dealer but they are very far away and if I can order it online I would like to do that instead. Thanks in advance!
Answer:Have you tried ordering it from Volvo online? Your local parts stores are unlikely to have this particular part available. I've checked my system, & don't list it. You may also check with your local Ford dealer, as Ford owns Volvo.
We found a '99 Volvo XC70 with a bad head gasket on Craig's list The car has 125K and runs good besides that. Issue is, we live about 40 minutes away from Akron, OH and need to go down there to get the car. Is it OK to do 30-40 miles of driving with a car that has a bad head gasket?? We will fix it right away! Will it be a huge issue
Answer:I would take car to a Volvo Independent Repair shop and have them confirm head gasket is bad....from there the service manager will advise you everything u should know about their discovery...
Hey. Has anyone run into any problems with the Volvo XC70? Are they expensive to fix? Found a used for a good price. Considering Volvo, Toyota, or Honda. Family of 3 plus a dog. Thanks for any advice

Answer:My 2001 v70 can take midgrade, no pings, etc. I think it really likes the premium better, seems to me that is rides nicer with premium..? or should i say purrs better? LOL
